HILMORTON REYNOLDS ran the Glenrowan Post Office.
His building also housed and was rented by the police.

Mr Reynolds hoped he could sell his building to the Government after the Siege.
Unfortunately for him the Government had not missed the fact that he was one
of those left at large by Ned and could well have warned the police.
In fact it is feasible Mr Reynolds was watching the lone Glenrowan Policeman
Constable Bracken for Ned.

It was Reynolds who Ned took along to call Constable Bracken out of his bed so that
he would not realise whom his late caller was. Bracken was captured without bloodshed.
