The Glenrowan Post-Master.

Hillmorton Reynolds was not taken prisoner during the siege.
Ned must have trusted him a lot as he lived right next door to Bracken the policeman.
Perhaps this explains why the policeman was left at home for so long.

According to Curnow, Ned went to collect Reynolds at the same time that he was
collecting Bracken. Among several prisoners he took along were prisoners named
Edward & Alex Reynolds. (Alex was the post-master's son)

After the siege Mr. Reynolds wrote to the police several times asking them to rent or
buy his place (adjoining the police station which he was already renting to them) because he
was fearful of his life at the hands of sympathisers. In fact the police believed that he
did not do enough to alert the police that the gang were in town.
The police reminded him that he was one of the persons left at liberty by the gang,
a mile away from the Railway Station yet he did nothing to try and alert the police
that the gang were in town.
He felt that having rented part of his building to the police was reason enough to
be a marked man.
