Within the town itself there is one
motel and two B&B's.
There is also a caravan park and Bed & Breakfast available.
Glenrowan as a town has only changed a
little bit over the past few years, however the
quality of the food has increased a great deal. Mostly I speak here of
take-away foods. There
are terrific little places for Devonshire tea or hot food. There are a
couple of fish 'n' chip style
establishments but no 'restaurants' as such. (the Glenrowan Hotel does
provide a great hot meal)
The Billy Tea Rooms does have a great array of meals available for every
budget.
WHERE TO STAY.
B&B.
Billy Tea Rooms Apartment.
Gladstone St Glenrowan, right next to all the attractions.
This is my pick of the places to stay in Glenrowan.
The reasons are, affordability, spaciousness, friendliness and proximity
to every attraction.
Vintage
Kelly Country Accommodation.
This is Glenrowan's latest B&B within the main street of Glenrowan.
Here you are staying in a nice little cottage, I am yet to stay but
it looks very nice.
MOTEL.
Glenrowan Kelly Country Motel.
This little motel would be well known to most who have
stayed in Glenrowan.
CARAVAN PARK.
Glenrowan Bushland Caravan & Camping Park
I have not yet stayed here but
I am told it is THE best park in Glenrowan.

WHERE TO EAT.
The various places to eat include:
Kelly's Cookhouse
Here you can obtain food, including groceries later at night.
Billy Tea Rooms
(Devonshire tea, sandwiches and hot foods)
A word of
warning here,
if you just want a snack, say so, or you may find you cannot fit in all
the food that is
provided. See Linda for a great feed or a place to stay.
Ned's Burgers (open late) also has a very
small selection of groceries, it is
next door to the motel. Note: min chips $3.00 is a bag of chips only.
The night I visited the business was running red hot.
The Glenrowan Hotel (formerly the Railway
Hotel) have a dining room and BBQ area.
Buffalo Mountain Wines
This establishment was once the old
dance hall.
Thirty different wine makers are
represented and over 140 different
bottles are there to be tasted.
Other businesses: hairdresser,
Post Office (the
post office also sells Ned souvenirs).
If you cannot survive without McDonald's, there is one just out of
Glenrowan on the Hume Hwy.
Note: the town has no chemist, bank, auto teller or
medical centre and don't leave your trip to
the shop too late! It does have a pay-phone though.
